Let’s dive into some of the exciting updates and enhancements we’ve implemented in Q3-Q4 2023 based on your valuable feedback.
We’ve packed this post with details so grab a cup of your favorite beverage and settle in for a cozy journey through the improvements.
Course Authoring Tools: Building a Better Learning Journey
Our Course Authoring tools are the heart of our platform enabling you to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.
We’ve been diligently working on refinements and new features to make this process smoother more intuitive and ultimately more effective for you and your learners.
Enhancing the Interactive Video Experience
Remember those times when you wish you could add traditional Chinese subtitles to your videos? We hear you! You can now select traditional Chinese as a language option for subtitles in Interactive Video Authoring.
Just click on “Edit Video” and you’ll find the option waiting for you.
And let’s talk about interrupted learning – those moments when you pause a video and then have to start all over again.
Frustrating right? We’ve solved that problem.
The new “Resume Playback” setting lets you enable this feature in the Player Setup tab of the Video settings page.
Now your learners can pick up right where they left off seamlessly back into their learning experience.
Boosting the Power of Self Assessments
We’ve also made some powerful improvements to the self-assessment functionality.
Previously “The course is completed” events for Zapier/Webhooks weren’t triggered for self-assessments.
Well that’s no longer the case.
Now these events are triggered for self-assessments upon submission when they are automatically graded or upon manual grading.
This opens up new possibilities for automating workflows and streamlining your processes.
Adding Images Inline with Text Assignments
Speaking of assessments we’ve added a new feature that allows you to insert images inline with your text assignment questions.
This gives you even more flexibility in creating rich and engaging assessments that can truly capture the essence of your learning content.
Greater Control Over Assessment Completion
We’ve also given you more control over how assessments are marked as complete.
Previously self-assessments and forms were considered complete when learners simply visited the assessment or submitted the form.
Now you have the option to set the completion criteria to either “Visit” or “Complete” for both self-assessments and forms.
This level of control ensures that your learners truly engage with the material before marking it as complete.
Visual Enhancements for Feedback
We’ve also made visual improvements to the automated feedback for assessments.
Now you can add images inline with the text for both “correct answer” and “incorrect answer” feedback.
This makes the feedback more engaging and can help learners visualize the concepts you’re teaching.
Opening New Worlds with URL Navigation
Have you ever wanted to navigate your learners’ web browsers to open URLs in a new window while they’re working on an assessment? Now you can! This feature allows you to link to external resources directly from within your assessments making it easier for your learners to explore relevant content without leaving the assessment environment.
Printing Points for Customized Certificates
We’ve also made it possible to print points instead of a percentage on PDF certificates.
You can do this by using the new “Points_earned” and “Points_total” PDF keys on custom certificate templates.
This provides more flexibility in tailoring certificates to your specific needs.
Enhanced Review Center Visibility
We’ve also made improvements to the Review Center allowing you to see which instructor reviewed and graded which assessment.
This level of transparency can be particularly helpful in schools with multiple instructors ensuring accountability and efficiency.
New API Endpoints for Enhanced Functionality
We’ve introduced several new API request endpoints to give you even more control over your school’s data.
This includes a “Get Form responses” API endpoint for retrieving form responses an API endpoint for returning a list of all user roles an API endpoint for returning a specific user and several endpoints for managing seat offerings.
These new endpoints provide a greater level of integration and automation for your platform.
Preserving Text Formatting in Review Center
Previously text formatting chosen by learners when submitting answers to text assignments wasn’t preserved in the Review Center.
We’ve rectified that issue ensuring that formatting is maintained.
This makes reviewing answers more user-friendly and visually appealing.
Customizable Automated Feedback
You can now specify the language of automated feedback answers globally using the Site Language fields.
This makes it easier to tailor your school to learners with different language preferences.
Notification Emails for Qualification Forms
We’ve added a new notification email option for when a user submits a qualification form.
This can be enabled in Notification Emails / Admin settings keeping you informed about important submissions.
Sharing Certificates Publicly
If you want to allow your learners to share their certificates publicly you can now provide them with a public URL that’s printed on the PDF certificate.
This is achieved by using the new “Link” PDF key on custom certificate templates.
Improved Certificate Social Media Preview
We’ve also made sure that when certificates are shared on social media they show a preview thumbnail of the actual certificate instead of the course layout page.
This provides a more visually appealing and informative preview for your learners’ social media posts.

This gives you more control over the visual presentation of your blog content.
Sign-Up Forms for “Enroll” Buttons
Previously when signed-out users clicked on the “Enroll” button of a course page the sign-in form was displayed.
We’ve changed this behavior so that the “Enroll” button now displays the sign-up form for logged-out visitors.
This streamlines the user experience and makes it easier for potential learners to sign up for your courses.
Custom Icon Insertion
You can now insert custom icons in line with your Text content anywhere on your school website.
Choose from our predefined Icon Library set or upload your own icons.
This flexibility gives you more creative control over the visual design of your website.
Alternative Text for Screen Widgets

Now you can set an Alternative text field for Screen Widgets as well.
This improves accessibility for users with visual impairments and helps with SEO.
Typing Effect Widget Delay
A new setting lets you configure a delay for the “back” effect of a Typing Effect Widget by specifying a value in milliseconds.
This provides more customization options for creating dynamic and visually interesting text effects.
Enroll Button Widget
We’ve added a new Enroll Button Widget that enables you to include an “Enroll” button for any of your courses anywhere on your School Website without the need for a course hero section.
This gives you more flexibility in promoting your courses.
Expanded Social Icon Widget
The Social Icons Widget now includes even more social links with new options for Discord Spotify Telegram WhatsApp SoundCloud and Website.
This helps you connect with your audience on all their favorite platforms.
Funnel Widget Enhancements
The Download file Widget on Funnels can now move to the next step of a Funnel (if another step exists) after a user downloads the file.
This streamlines the user journey and ensures that users are seamlessly guided through your funnel.

The text of the Navigation items on the Hamburger menu of mobile viewports can now be customized to be all Uppercase.
This provides more control over the visual appearance of your mobile menu.

This allows you to customize the experience for your logged-in users.
Expanded Site Language Options

Additionally a mobile icon now indicates when a user activity was performed using your school’s mobile app.

SCORM File Updates and Gradebook Preservation
Learner scores and responses are no longer wiped out from the Gradebooks when a SCORM file is updated.
Gradebooks will now keep learners’ responses and learner progress will be maintained for those who completed the SCORM unit before the SCORM file is updated.
This ensures that learner data is preserved and that your learners can continue their progress without interruption.
Lead Conversion and UTM Data Transfer
When a Lead is converted to a User the Last click attribution data (UTMs) are transferred and transformed as First click attribution data (UTMs) on the User details.
This provides a more accurate and consistent tracking of user data across your platform.
