Exclusive Insight: Contabo Data Center in Nuremberg!
I’m stoked to share some exclusive insights into Contabo’s second data center in Nuremberg.
This project has been a massive undertaking for us and it’s something I’ve been itching to talk about for a while now.
As you know Contabo is always looking for ways to improve our services and provide our customers with the best possible experience.
This new data center is a huge part of that vision and it represents a significant step forward for our company.
A New Era for Contabo: Expanding Our Reach with a Second Data Center
Back in 2014 we took a big leap forward by opening our second data center in Nuremberg.
You might be wondering why Nuremberg? Well it was a strategic decision based on a few key factors:
- Geographic Diversification: Having a second data center in Nuremberg allows us to diversify geographically which is crucial for ensuring high levels of availability and redundancy.
- Enhanced Performance for Clients: This new location also provides us with the space and infrastructure to expand our offerings and provide even better performance for our clients.
- Greater Control for Customers: One of the coolest aspects of this new data center is the option for our customers to choose where their servers are housed. We’ve always given customers the choice of our Munich facility and now they can opt for the Nuremberg location as well. This provides more flexibility and control over their server infrastructure.
A Sneak Peek Inside the Nuremberg Data Center
This is where things get really interesting! I’m going to give you a glimpse into the heart of this data center highlighting some of the key features that make it a powerhouse of modern server technology.
Server Powerhouse: The Inside Scoop
Stepping into this data center is like entering another world.
You’re immediately struck by the rows and rows of servers all meticulously organized and humming with activity.
It’s a sight that any tech enthusiast would find impressive.
Racking Up the Innovation:
One of the things that immediately jumped out at me were the server racks themselves.
These aren’t your typical run-of-the-mill server racks.
We’re talking about robust high-density racks designed to handle the demands of modern server workloads.
They’re also extremely efficient in terms of power consumption and cooling which is crucial in a data center environment.
A Symphony of Connectivity:
Another aspect that stood out was the sheer amount of connectivity within the data center.
There are massive core switches redundant fiber connections and a network infrastructure that’s built for speed and reliability.
This ensures that data flows smoothly and efficiently throughout the entire system.
Security and Reliability: The Cornerstones of Trust
In the world of data centers security and reliability are paramount.
We don’t just talk about these things; we live and breathe them at Contabo.
The Nuremberg data center is no exception and here’s how we make sure your data is safe and sound.
Fort Knox of the Digital World:
The Nuremberg data center is designed to withstand just about anything.
It’s built with reinforced concrete walls and has multiple layers of physical security.
Only authorized personnel can access the facility and every step of the way is monitored with advanced security systems.
Redundancy: Your Data’s Backup Plan:
Beyond physical security we also have a comprehensive system of redundancies in place.
This means that critical components like power supplies cooling systems and networking equipment have backups in place.
If one system fails another immediately kicks in ensuring uninterrupted service.
USV Systems: Powering Through the Storms:
One of the most important features of a data center is its uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system.
This system provides an emergency backup of power in case of a power outage.
The Nuremberg data center boasts a robust UPS system with double battery packs.
This ensures that servers can continue to operate uninterrupted even in the event of a prolonged power outage.
LVMD: The Silent Guardian:
Another crucial component of the data center’s reliability is the liquid-cooled vapor-compression system or LVMD for short.
This sophisticated system uses a combination of air conditioning and liquid cooling to keep server temperatures stable and prevent overheating.
This is essential for ensuring that servers run smoothly and efficiently.
A Symphony of Cooling:
The data center also features several air conditioning cabinets with multiple reciprocator chillers.
These systems are designed to remove heat from the server racks and keep the environment cool and stable.
Sustainability: Powering the Future Responsibly
We’re not just focused on building a robust and secure data center; we’re also committed to doing it in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
Here’s how we’re working to minimize our impact on the planet.
Efficient Cooling: Making the Most of Energy:
As I mentioned earlier the data center is designed to use energy efficiently.
We’re constantly looking for ways to optimize cooling systems and reduce power consumption without compromising performance.
Emergency Diesel Power: A Backup with a Plan:
We also have an emergency diesel power generator on site.
This generator provides power in the event of a prolonged power outage.
We’re committed to using eco-friendly diesel fuel for this generator minimizing our environmental footprint.
A Future-Proof Design:
The Nuremberg data center is built with future scalability in mind.
This means that we can easily expand the facility to accommodate future growth without compromising on security or efficiency.
More Than Just a Data Center:
Ultimately the new data center in Nuremberg is more than just a building.
It’s a symbol of our commitment to providing our customers with the best possible service.
It’s a testament to our dedication to innovation reliability and sustainability.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this exclusive look inside our new data center in Nuremberg.
I’m incredibly proud of the team that worked hard to make this project a reality.
Stay tuned for more news and updates about this exciting development!
