Backlinks are the lifeblood of any SEO strategy but we have to be careful about how we measure their value.

I’ve come to realize that many of the metrics SEOs use to measure backlinks are highly manipulative and often don’t reflect true value. For example Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR) can be easily inflated by buying links from guest post sellers and link vendors. While the DR might look impressive on paper it doesn’t mean those links are truly valuable to your website.
