It’s been a wild ride so far filled with unexpected twists and turns but I’m learning so much along the way.

Remember that niche site I’ve been working on? It’s been live for about three and a half months now and we’ve cranked out a whopping 64 human-written articles.

It’s been awesome seeing how those articles are starting to rank and even more exciting that we’ve snagged almost 10 backlinks in just the past month and a half!

But here’s the kicker – 14 of our articles are already rocking the first page of Google search results! Can you believe it? We’re still in the early stages but the results are starting to show which is seriously motivating.

However building a niche site isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

We’ve encountered a couple of unexpected challenges that have thrown a wrench in our plans.

First up Reddit is basically our arch-nemesis right now.

It’s ranking for almost every single keyword we target especially the commercial ones.

It’s like they’re stealing our thunder and it’s super frustrating! I mean come on we’re putting in the hard work writing killer content and then Reddit just swoops in and takes the spotlight? Not cool Reddit!

Challenge #2: The Parasite Article Problem

And if that wasn’t enough we’re also facing the dreaded parasite article issue.

It’s basically where big established sites like Forbes and other authority giants are ranking for broad general keywords.

They’re basically sucking the life out of our efforts to rank for keywords like “best headphones under $300.”

It’s a real battle trying to compete with these giants and honestly sometimes it feels like we’re fighting an uphill battle.

But hey I’m not one to give up easily! We’ve got to find a way to outsmart these challenges and make our niche site shine.

So we’re putting together a game plan to tackle both of these obstacles head-on.

Strategy #1: Targeting Niche Markets

The first thing we’re doing is changing our focus to commercial topics where Reddit isn’t dominating the search results.

We’re maintaining a healthy balance of informational and commercial content keeping the ratio at 20% commercial and 80% informational.

This way we can tap into areas where we have a better chance of ranking without facing the same level of competition from Reddit.

Strategy #2: Using Reddit as a Parasite

Now this one might sound crazy but we’re going to experiment with a little guerrilla marketing.

We’re going to try using Reddit as a parasite basically strategically using their platform to our advantage.

It’s not exactly conventional SEO but it’s definitely a risky tactic that could yield some unexpected results.

We’re going to dive into the depths of Reddit see how we can play the game and see if we can leverage their traffic to boost our own rankings.

We’re also going to go on a content creation spree.

We’re going to cover every single possible informational topic within our subcategories leaving no stone unturned.

We want to become the ultimate authority on everything related to our niche making sure our content is top-notch and provides value for our readers.

Of course building high-quality backlinks is an absolute must.

We’ve already started to make some progress with link building but we’re going to ramp it up even more.

We’re going to be using a combination of:

We’re also ditching the guest posting strategy for now as we want to focus on working with niche editors to secure high-quality links that align with our niche.

Our second goal is to become a direct brand affiliate.

While we currently rely on Amazon as our primary affiliate partner we want to establish direct relationships with brands.

We want to prove to these brands that we can deliver real results driving sales and generating substantial traffic.

To do this we need to build a track record and demonstrate our website’s potential.

Goal #3: Publishing 120 Human-Written Articles

We’re committed to creating high-quality content so our third goal is to publish a total of 120 human-written articles.

We believe that consistent content creation is key to establishing authority in our niche and attracting a loyal audience.

Goal #4: Building 100 High-Quality Backlinks

Finally we’re setting a target of acquiring 100 backlinks including guest posts natural links press releases and more.

We want to build a strong backlink profile that strengthens our domain authority and improves our search engine rankings.
